Photosensitivity

Definition:

A measure of the skin's increased sensitivity to light and other sources of ultraviolet radiation.

Photosensitivity in lupus patients refers to the development of a rash after exposure to UV-B radiation in sunlight or fluorescent lights. Side effects from medications can also cause photosensitivity. Those that exhibit this trait are often more susceptible to sunburn and skin cancers.
