Rheumatic conditions

Definition: Rheumatic conditions or rheumatic disorders are general terms for conditions that may cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints and other supporting body structures, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones. Rheumatic diseases can affect other areas of the body, including internal organs. Types of rheumatic conditions include fibromylagia, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic heart disease and systemic lupus erythematosus. Rhuematic conditions are treated by a rheumatologist.
