Summer's Coming, Watch the Sun!
Tuesday May 6, 2008
Did you catch "The Today Show" this morning? One of the anchors had gone on assignment in the tropics and, having decided not to don her sunscreen, ended the day with a terrible sunburn.
As we're getting closer to summer, days are getting longer, and the sun is beating down harder than ever. For those with lupus, this can be a danger, as many lupus sufferers are photosensitive.
If you're planning yard work or gardening in the days and weeks to come, don't let the mild air fool you, either. The sun's rays are just as effective in 60 degree weather as 90 degree weather.
So don't forget your sunscreen!
