I had to laugh when I saw this news: fictional doctor Dr. Gregory House, from the FOX TV show House recently made a diagnosis of lupus.
I led an article with an explanation about how a running gag on the TV show is the regular misdiagnosis of lupus in patients with diseases presenting similar symptoms. A reality in that lupus is a difficult disease to diagnosis and its symptoms mimic those of many other diseases.
After four years on the air, Dr. House met his lupus patient – a magician suffering seizures and renal failure. The episode, titled “You Don’t Want to Know,” aired on Nov. 20. Though the doctor finally made the diagnosis, series producers say the “misdiagnosis” inside joke will continue for seasons to come.
If you want to get a head start on finding out more about lupus, you can do that here, with What is Lupus? And then see how House may have made his diagnosis in Diagnosis of Lupus.

Dr. Gregory House would be envious of next guest author. The televison series House, M.D. always has the character of Dr. Gregory House searching for and trying to find his next patient. Valley Girls Musings may just have the most famous Lupus patient/author joining us today. Read more here at http://valleygirlmusings.blogspot.com/2007/12/featured-author-marilyn-celeste-morris.html
